Long Distance Relationship Challenge

It is ever possible to sustain a long-distance relationship? The answer to this isn't as obvious as it seems.I should know since I've been in a long distance relationship for over ten years.Regular relationships are hard work.As far as long distance ones ,the work and discipline involved is prohibitive. And people who consider venturing into this must be fully aware of the implications.

But how do people end up in long distance relationships in the first place?Normally, one of the couple takes up a job a few thousand kilometres away or goes to study in another country.Basically, the couple is separated. But I believe that the separation could be a blessing in disguise.Let me explain.A regular relationship would never survive the distance.I reckon there's no greater challenge to a relationship than physical separation.Relationships have survived deceit, lies, unfaithfulness etc,but very few have survived the long distance. So,if a relationship does survive then it is a sign that it is an extraordinary one and founded on stern stuff.

It is well documented that absense makes the heart grow fonder. But really?I mean ,it has been my experience that the opposite is true. The more I see my better half, the more I know her.And the more I know her,the more I appreciate and love her.

If it's worth having, its bound to be difficult.Translated,if your relationship is worth having ,the distance between you will be negligible.Sure, there will be some loneliness, doubt, the niggling fear that he/she will meet someone else, but if your relationship is of any significance you will make it work.Regardless of the distance and any other challenges.
